Brainwave-driven Generative Visual System — SPFW24

PART I

Development of a generative visual system driven by brainwave data. The project began in collaboration with fashion designer Tom Martins for his SPFW24 collection, exploring the relationship between neural activity, artificial intelligence and textile design.

Using a brainwave sensor, the system translated neural data into dynamic visual compositions. Parameters such as AI prompts, color and motion were influenced in real time, generating distinct patterns and animations.

Selected frames were automatically captured and converted into printable patterns, later used by Tom Martins to create four unique looks for the SPFW24 collection.

PART II

Expanding the original system, the project evolved into a brand activation for Ypê during SPFW 2024, held at the Brazilian Culture Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park.

The system was adapted into an immersive interactive experience inside the brand’s booth. Visitors were invited to sit in an armchair, wear the brainwave sensor and headphones, and engage with the installation through visual, sound and olfactory stimuli.

For this stage, an original soundtrack was composed and synchronized with the generative system, creating a cohesive audiovisual environment and enhancing immersion.

Neural data captured during each session directly influenced the real-time visuals, producing a unique response for every participant.

At the end, the system automatically captured a frame from the visuals and generated an on-screen QR code, allowing participants to download their exclusive visual. Each image was personalized with the participant’s name, the activation title and the SPFW edition, creating a unique and shareable result for social media.

GLUE TRIP

Visual direction and live visuals for concert

The band Glue Trip commissioned a new set of visuals for their 10th anniversary tour, Glue Trip: 10 anos de Psicodelia.

Live generative visuals and motion animations were created and combined with existing material produced by different artists throughout the band’s history. The visuals were mixed in real time following the musical dynamics, expanding the atmosphere of the performance and engaging with the group’s psychedelic language, incorporating analog textures and retro effects.

The collaboration continued with the show Glue Trip Toca o Primeiro Álbum, maintaining the same aesthetic and technical approach while reorganizing the visual flow around the album’s narrative.

WALLY SALOMÃO: DITO E LIDO

Visual direction & production for live performance

Wally Salomão: Dito e Lido is a poetry and music performance celebrating the poet’s 80th anniversary, presented at Sesc Pinheiros in October 2023, directed by Alexandre Matias and Juliana Vettore.

The visuals were built from words extracted from selected poem excerpts and transformed into generative animations. The system organizes and reorganizes the terms into variable geometric structures, defining position, scale and movement in a non-linear way, with control over intensity, fluidity and amplitude throughout the performance.

Alongside the moving typography, the work incorporated archival videos from the author and audio-reactive textures, creating a dynamic visual layer that accompanies the reading and musicality of the presentation.

TEMPO

Lighting design & live operation for staged performance

Presented at Sesc Pompeia in São Paulo, TEMPO, a performance by Inaê Moreira, articulates dance and sound in a continuous experience of transformation.

The lighting design was developed as part of the visual construction of the scene, treating light as an image in space. Intensities, contrasts and zones of darkness organize the audience’s perception and follow shifts in the performer’s physical state, defining rhythm and duration.

Operated live, the lighting guides the progression of the performance and sustains the atmosphere of the work over time.

COLORS GROW

Visual effects for music video — Colors Grow (Lumen Craft)

Audio-reactive visual effects with evolving color variations and pulsing throughout the track.

A generative system was developed to automate beat synchronization. The work includes motion tracking and graphic interventions that follow the dance, with drawn lines and shapes integrated into the image.

TRANSCEND I

Artistic visual work for immersive audiovisual performance

Transcend I is a visual work conceived for live presentation in collaboration with composer Desireé Marantes, who created the original soundtrack. Later adapted for dome projection, it was selected as a finalist at the Waveforms Multimedia Art Festival (Boston Cyberarts, 2023), receiving an honorable mention.

The visual explores organic forms in constant transformation, creating surfaces and reliefs that emerge, collapse, and reorganize over time. The composition develops in direct relation to the sound structure, aiming for an immersive and spatial experience of continuity and transition.
